If you are someone who fears quitting smoking because of the side effects of weight gain, then we will discuss several issues in this article that you will find very interesting. The reality is, there is a possibility you may gain weight when you quit smoking. First I will discuss the reasons why this happens. Secondly I will discuss why you shouldn't let this be a reason not to quit, as there are very simple solutions to the problem. If weight gain is a problem for you there may be other areas in your life that you can improve the same time. Quitting smoking may be the excuse you need to improve other areas of your health and well-being at the same time. At the conclusion of this article you will be able to face quitting smoking without the fear of ever gaining a single pound. One of the unfortunate side effects when you stop smoking, is the possibility of gaining weight. This will not happen to everybody (some lucky people never put on any weight), but it is a frequent occurrence. Some people may only put a little bit of weight while others can put on 3 kg's or more.
The reasons for this weight gain are thought be because: - Smoking actually burns about 200 calories a day as a result of your body working overtime to metabolise is the poisons from your system. So even if you don't eat any more when you quit, you still need to find a way to burn an extra 200 calories, or cut this from your daily intake.
- Years of smoking can dull the taste buds and when you stop taste returns to normal. This may lead to overindulgence.
- When some people quit, they substitute cigarettes with food. Instead of going outside for a ciggie they head straight for the fridge.
Many smokers use the fear of weight gain as an excuse not to quit. The fact of the matter is, there are plenty of solutions to this problem. Here are some ideas to make sure you don't pack on the pounds after you have stubbed out that last cigarette. As soon as you have stopped smoking, put yourself on a healthy eating plan. I'm not saying go on a diet (an evil word that should be banished from the English language), but instead make some healthier choices. - Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and lean meats. If you find it hard to eat healthy all the time then allow yourself to have one day a week where you spoil yourself. This makes it easy to stay on track the rest of the time.
- Another good point about eating healthy straight is that it helps your body become more efficient at repairing itself and getting rid of poisons/toxins. You will need this after smoking for all those years.
- Add 30 minutes of solid Aerobic activity to your daily routine; this will burn up those extra 200 calories. This can be anything from jogging, biking, skipping, or playing sports like tennis, netball or touch rugby.
The thing is, it is absolutely vital for human beings to exercise, it is simply not an option not to. There are no ifs or buts in this equation. If you are not getting any exercise, quitting smoking could be the opportunity to add this to your healthy lifestyle. Now we all lead pretty hectic lives and it can be hard to fit 30 minutes in. You could break the 30 minutes up into segments during the day or sacrifices may need to be made like waking up 30 minutes earlier, or missing out on TV for half an hour. If you find yourself substituting cigarettes with food, then you really need to make a conscious effort to stop. Throw out all the junk and sugar foods in the house and fill your fridge and cupboards with healthy, low calorie snacks like fruits, veggies and nuts. If you are really serious about stopping smoking, then there is no way you should let a little something like putting on a couple of extra kg's stop you from achieving your goal. If it does stop you from quitting, then you may not be serious enough about stopping smoking in the first place. The Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet, Easy Diets Anybody Can Follow, is one of the most popular diets available online right now. Although the name is probably intended to convince the potential customer that this diet is so easy that an idiot could do it, an Easy Diets Anybody Can Follow, I was a little put off by this name and started to wonder if this diet really works. I set out to do some market research, to find out if this diet is the real deal or not. When I started my research, I had a hard time to find an unbiased Fat Loss 4 Idiots opinion - although there are thousands of affiliate reviews raving about the product.I skimmed to every website with comments, feedback and reviews about the Fat Loss 4 Idiots, which took me hours and hours. The main thing I was searching for were of Fat Loss 4 Idiots complaints. I did not really find any real complaints. The main complaints were the fruit and veggie day included in every diet cycle, the other complaint was that you have to consume 8 glasses of water per day. One complaint that did not concern myself but maybe it is important for you, is that it is not made for diabetics. Better stay away from this diet if you are a diabetic. The main consumer consensus is that Fat Loss 4 idiots works. The good thing is, that you get to eat the foods that are to your liking - so if you do not have a problem to stay with a strict dieting meal plan, you will be losing weight with Fat Loss 4 Idiots. Only the people who did not stick to the diet plan were complaining about not losing weight. They will probably not be losing weight with any other diet either. My personal consumer reports review of the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet has been very positive overall, I hope the time I invested in this research will pay itself off by losing me some weight. I will try this diet as I will get a ready made meal plan for each 11 day cycle, which is great for my busy schedule. you do not have to count calories and spend countless hours in preparing the diet and the meals. If you do not like just eating one type of food per meal (e.g. cottage cheese), you should probably stay away from this diet.I revised my opinion on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots. I have to say it is really the case that an idiot could go on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet without a problem. I have a very busy schedule and do not have the time (and no interest) to research all the facts about healthy eating and making my own diet plan - if this is the case for you as well, you should give Fat Loss 4 Idiots a try. They have a 60 day money back guarantee, which I will take on for sure in case I will not be satisfied. Related articles by Zemanta Filed under: FatLoss4Idiots.com Leave a commentBy Tom CruzIs
there really an easy diet? No diets are ever easy if you like to eat.
What you do need is a diet plan that is easy to follow and one of the
best ways of doing this is to count calories. Following the food guide
to show you what foods you should eat will not only help you lose
weight but will also ensure that you are eating healthy foods. Cutting
out junk food from your daily diet will actually shed pounds. While
this might be difficult if you are used to munching on chips or
chocolate while you watch TV, you can train yourself to snack on fresh
fruit and veggies, such as baby carrots or celery. Cutting down
on the amount of carbohydrates you consume will also help you lose
weight. When you replace the carbs with protein, you can eat a lot more
and still shed pounds. While you do need to eat carbohydrates to give
your body the energy it needs, you can cut down on your intake by being
aware of how much carbohydrates different foods contain. This means
carefully scrutinizing the label of foods when you shop for your
groceries. "Easy" means different things to different people
when it comes to dieting. For some, it might be easier to take part in
one of the diet programs available where the food is prepackaged in the
right portions. This takes the guesswork out of how much you should eat
at a meal and the chore of preparing the food. Eating plenty of
fresh fruits and vegetables is important while on a diet as is drinking
plenty of water. The water washes out the burned out calories out of
your system and helps to raise your metabolism. Exercising helps you
burn calories, so you lose weight as you work out. You also need to
exercise to firm up your muscles as you lose weight. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tom_Cruz http://EzineArticles.com/?Easy-Diets,-Do-They-Exist?&id=940613

It strikes me as Commentators trying make excuses for being overweight. Let's face the facts, fat come from the food we eat. Everyone is different, when I was younger I was very active, my metabolism was very fast. I got older and everything slowed down. Time to make adjustments to my diet, I'm careful that my diet is tasty and healthy.
