The holidays are just around the corner and if you
are like most people then you're dreading the unwanted weight you know
you will gain from binging on all the delicious food that appears
during the holiday season.
The unfortunate truth is that the
holiday season, instead of being a joyous stress-free occasion, is very
stressful and is more known for its eating binges, excess money spent
and frantic deadlines to meet than the relaxation it is supposed to
provide. People use holidays to stuff their bellies and then heave
sighs of regret later. It's easy to succumb to the pressures especially
when you see everybody else indulging themselves.
Most people promise themselves that they would rather treat themselves now and pay for it later. However, that really does not happen. All that happens is your gut and butt becoming bigger and you consistently making New Year's resolutions that will never get done! However, there are a few tips can help you to have your holiday cake and eat it too! Remember exercise is your best friend: Most people love to take an extended break from working out around on holidays. They blame it on no time, no energy, or not worth it. Coupled with eating binges, this lack of exercising can really add inches to your waist line. You really don't need to go to a gym or do a Herculean marathon to make your body burn fat. A nice walk around the block or a game of basketball with the kids every day can help in trimming your waist line and reign in those unnecessary urges to overdo it. Indulge but not excessively: Most people have an "all or none" mindset. You don't need to punish yourself by forgoing all the culinary delights that the holiday season has to offer. If necessary, eat well during the days leading up to the 'main event' and then letting that specific day be your 'cheat day'. You just need to understand the difference between hunger and indulgence.
